Dr. Cooksey’s work involves consulting with industry and providing expert testimony regarding industry standards related to: loading and unloading all types of transport vehicles; management of docks and warehouses; industrial supervision; regulations such as, 29CFR(OSHA and 49CFR)(DOT and HAZ MAT); and industry test standards such as ASTM, ANSI, NMFC, ISTA, and ISO. He has more than 40 years of experience teaching and working with industry dealing with all forms of consumer, industrial, and distribution packaging and shipping problems. His work also includes experience with materials, machines and packaging operations. Dr. Cooksey organizes and presents training programs and seminars.
Dr. Cooksey is Professor Emeritus of Industrial and Mechanical Technology having served as faculty and program coordinator of the BS degree in Packaging Technology at Indiana State University. He holds membership and officer positions in several related industrial and professional organizations, and he has been elected to several honor societies. He has authored publications and made a number of presentations to industry and professional groups.
Dr. Cooksey earned his doctorate (Ed.D.) from the University of Maryland completing studies in the School of Transportation, and he completed post-graduate courses in package engineering at Michigan State University. He holds certification as a technologist (CT) from the National Institute for the Certification of Engineers and Technologists (NICET).
